About the Role
Bryght is looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to take ownership of technically demanding live event and exhibition projects from initial enquiry through to successful delivery.
This is not simply a desk-based project management role.
We need someone who understands live event technology, can confidently speak with clients and production teams, can turn a brief into a practical technical solution, and can manage the commercial and operational delivery of projects on site.
The role will focus particularly on:

- Exhibition theatres
- Technical brand activations
- Complex exhibition AV installations
- LED video walls
- Large-format displays and projection
- Audio systems
- Staging and presentation environments
- Interactive technology
- Gaming, VR and immersive experiences
- Multi-technology exhibition stands
You’ll work closely with our sales, warehouse, technical and freelance teams to make sure projects are properly specified, profitable, prepared and delivered to a high standard.
What You’ll Be DoingProject Management
Take full ownership of projects from handover or initial enquiry through to completion.
You’ll:
- Review client briefs and understand the technical requirements of each project
- Carry out site visits and technical surveys where required
- Develop technical solutions using Bryght’s own equipment alongside sub-hired equipment where necessary
- Produce equipment lists and project specifications
- Prepare technical drawings, plans and supporting documentation
- Create crew schedules and production plans
- Organise transport, logistics, access times and venue requirements
- Coordinate with venues, exhibition organisers, stand builders, agencies and end clients
- Book freelance technicians and specialist suppliers
- Manage installations, show days and derigs
- Ensure equipment and crews arrive prepared and on time
- Identify project risks before they become problems
- Carry out post-event project reviews
Technical Design
You’ll be expected to have a strong understanding of professional event AV and be able to design appropriate technical solutions.
Projects may include:
- LED video walls
- Exhibition stand AV
- Conference audio
- Presentation systems
- Large displays and digital signage
- Projection
- Video switching and distribution
- Playback systems
- Staging
- Lighting
- Interactive displays
- Touchscreens
- VR and immersive experiences
- Gaming and esports installations
- Branded technology experiences
You don’t need to be the country’s best engineer in every discipline, but you should have enough technical knowledge to confidently design, specify and manage multi-discipline AV projects.
On-Site Delivery
For larger or more complex projects, you’ll attend site and take responsibility for delivery.
This could involve:
- Leading technical crews
- Managing installation schedules
- Liaising with clients and organisers
- Troubleshooting technical or logistical problems
- Coordinating multiple suppliers
- Managing changes during installation
- Making sure the finished installation meets the agreed specification
- Ensuring the event is delivered professionally and safely
You’ll be expected to remain calm under pressure and make sensible decisions when things inevitably change on site.
Commercial Responsibility
This is an important part of the role.
We want a Project Manager who understands that successful projects need to be both technically excellent and commercially successful.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Preparing and reviewing project costs
- Building profitable technical solutions
- Identifying additional opportunities within client briefs
- Managing sub-hire and freelance expenditure
- Protecting project margins
- Avoiding unnecessary costs
- Identifying variations and additional charges
- Supporting the sales team with technically complex quotations
- Developing relationships with existing customers
- Helping turn one-off projects into repeat business
The performance-related element of the package will reward strong project performance, margin and revenue contribution.
The Type of Projects You’ll Work On
Projects could range from a relatively simple exhibition installation through to:
Corporate Conference
LED backdrop, stage, lectern, presentation laptops, switching, audio, lighting, comfort monitors and technical crew.
Exhibition Theatre
Stage, LED or projection, PA system, microphones, playback, lighting, seating integration and show technicians.
Technical Brand Activation
Interactive touchscreens, LED displays, gaming systems, VR experiences, digital content and branded technology.
Complex Exhibition Stand
Multiple LED walls, displays, audio, lighting, content distribution, interactive screens and technical infrastructure integrated into a custom-built exhibition stand.
You’ll often be working alongside exhibition contractors, creative agencies, production companies and major brands.

Essential Experience

- Previous experience delivering corporate events, exhibitions or live productions
- Experience managing projects from planning through to delivery
- Strong organisational skills
- Confidence dealing directly with clients
- Experience coordinating technicians, suppliers and venues
- Good understanding of event logistics
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Commercial awareness
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when projects require it
- Ability to travel throughout the UK

Package
£35,000–£40,000 basic salary depending on experience
Plus a performance-related bonus / commission structure with realistic earnings of:
£50,000–£60,000 OTE
